Lisa Gade reviews the Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13 Windows 8 laptop with a touch screen. This is an unusual Ultrabook with a 13.3" touchscreen and 360 degree hinge that allows you to use it in notebook, tablet and wedge configurations. It has a lovely 1600 x 900 IPS display, an Intel Core i5 1.7GHz CPU, 4 gigs of RAM and a 128 gig SSD drive. It runs Windows 8 Pro so it can run Metro apps and Windows 7 apps. The price starts at $999.

Lisa Gade reviews the Samsung ATIV Smart PC Pro 700T Windows 8 tablet. The ATIV 700T is an 11.6" tablet running on an Intel Core i5-3317U 1.7GHz CPU with Intel HD 4000 graphics, 4 gigs of RAM and a 128 gig SSD. Basically, it has the brains of an Ultrabook, much like Surface Pro. The tablet has a full HD 1920 x 1080 display with a dual digitizer with 10 point multi-touch and a Wacom active digitizer with pen (WinTab drivers included). A keyboard dock is included and the ATIV 700T sells for $1,200US.

The tablet weights less than 3 lbs. and has a slider design with a backlit keyboard. It has dual band Intel WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 + HS, NFC and two 2.4MP cameras. It weighs 3.35 lbs. and has a carbon fiber and aluminum casing. The laptop runs on Intel Core i5 and i7 ULV CPUs with Intel HD 4000 graphics. You can get it with 4 or 8 gigs of RAM and a 128 or 256 gig SSD drive. It has 2 USB 3.0 ports, a mini DisplayPort and a 3.5mm combo audio jack. Other features include a backlit keyboard, dual band Intel WiFi and 1.3MP webcam. It starts at $1,199.

Lisa Gade reviews the Asus Taichi Windows 8 convertible tablet with dual screens. The Ultrabook is available in an 11.6" Taichi 21 model that we look at in this review and in a 13.3" Taichi 31 model. Other than screen size and an SD card slot on the 13.3" model, the two are basically the same. Starting at $1,299 for the 1.7GHz Intel Core i5 ULV model with 4 gigs of RAM and a 128 gig SSD, the Taichi 21 has an inner matte 1920 x 1080 IPS display and an outer 1080p gloss screen with 10 point multi-touch and an N-Trig Duo Sense 2 digital pen for art work and note-taking. You can use one or both displays at the same time! The Taichi has dual band Intel WiFi with WiDi, Bluetooth, NFC, a front 720p webcam and rear 5MP camera. There's a Core i7 with 256 gig SSD version that sells for $1,599.
